7 years, 7 seasons, 160 episodes… My life WASTED.

The series finale of the most social TV show to date, Pretty Little Liars is definitely something to talk about… My reaction towards the episode is pretty much summed up by the expression on Troian Bellisario’s face in the photo above.

So it turns out that A.D. is none other than the evil twin sister of Spencer, Alex Drake… A character is which we have never seen or heard of throughout the whole series. It is infuriating that they revealed the person who has been interrogating the liars, following in the footsteps of A, to be someone we have met for the first time. It would have made a lot more sense if Alex Drake was introduced earlier on in the season, for audiences to get a grasp on her character.

With the episode containing a series of flashbacks of Alex sneaking her way into the girl’s lives pretending to be Spencer, it was almost like the producers could not come up with any more smarter ideas for a great revelation. With the books revealing that Alison had a twin, and, earlier on in the series when they revealed that Alison’s mother had a twin, I was hoping they would leave it at that. But no. They had to introduce another long-lost relative into the last ever episode.

The only thing I liked about the introduction of Alex was the moment where Spencer did not know where she was and realised that she was not looking in a mirror. Showing how tremendous of an actress Troian Bellisario actually is. A vastly underrated actress, I must say. But other than that, I was pretty much confused throughout the rest of the episode.

I found it quite poor how the only reason as to why Alex was trying to steal her twins sister identity was simply because she was lonely, with no friends, and fancied Toby, played by Keegan Allen. I wish she had more motive and was introduced earlier on the series for the ending to be justified. Also, Alex attending one of Spencer’s best friends (Aria) wedding and kidnapping the groom (Ezra) is a but messed up.

In regards to the rest of the aspects of the show, it’s satisfying to see that everyone finally got their happy ending and peace from anything and anyone who remotely resembled a stalker in a black hoodie. Emily (Shay Mitchell) and Alison (Sasha Pieterse) get engaged, Ezria (Lucy Hale & Ian Harding) finally get married, Spencer (Troian Bellisario) and Toby (Keegan Allen) get back together, sort of, and finally, Hanna (Ashley Benson) and Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) are expecting a child. All seems to be good for all of the liars and the people that they love.

The final scene in which you see all of the liars getting for one last time was emotional and shows the main focus of the show, friendship.

Even Mona (Janel Parrish), in some f**cked up way, gets her own happy ending… With her being in a relationship with the cop who arrests Alex and somehow kidnaps Mary and Alex and locks them in a room where they are made to drink tea all day.

Overall, it was fun watching the show, and I am sad that it has come to an end. But I was hoping for a better and more understandable ending which answered all the questions in which everyone wanted to know the answers to.
